With E3 2012 in the rear view mirror, Hooked Gamer's Mark Barley hands out his "Best of E3" awards.

Best Music/Rhythm Title - Dance Central 3

Best Of E3 2012

Usher's completely unnecessary impromptu concert aside, Microsoft and Harmonix showed off the next version of their hit Kinect title, Dance Central 3. While we didn't get to see a lot of gameplay, it is a safe bet that the game will improve on the second title's mechanics and that it will bring all new funky music tracks to get down to.

Best Shooter Title - Borderlands 2

Best Of E3 2012

It all came down to two games: Borderlands 2 and Dead Space 3, even if the latter has gotten some pretty unfair criticism since E3. Gearbox's upcoming sequel may be the best post-apocalyptic shooter ever but if you thought the original Borderlands title was awesome, you haven't seen the new one in action yet. The sequel will undoubtedly bring a bigger map, more weapons (even more weapons!?), and cooler enemies and villains. Claptrap and all your favorite characters are back for more freakishly cartoony fun.

Best Sports Title - FIFA 13

Best Of E3 2012

Once again the FIFA franchise takes the cake, and it's not just because I'm a soccer fan either. Year after year after year EA shows off the next version of FIFA to completely blow everyone away. It's the company's best selling sports title (yep, even bigger than Madden) and most in-depth sports offering to date. FIFA 13 introduces Kinect voice commands for the Xbox 360 that allows you to call out different players on the pitch as well as set line-ups and the like. FIFA 13 is out in October for all the major consoles.

Best Handheld Title - Paper Mario: Sticker Star

Best Of E3 2012

Nintendo announced Paper Mario: Sticker Star for the 3DS at E3 and instantly won the handheld fight. While Sony was busy neglecting their PS Vita at the largest gaming showcase in the world, Nintendo was holding their own special 3DS E3 press conference to exclusively reveal new titles. The roster included such titles as New Super Mario Bros. 2, Luigi's Mansion 2, and Paper Mario: Sticker Star. Sticker Star features brand new innovative gameplay where you will have to collect different stickers throughout the game to complete even the simplest of tasks. The title will feature the graphics that made the Paper Mario franchise one of Nintendo's best sellers and will utilize the 3DS' unique gameplay mechanics to bring the fun straight to the palm of your hand.
