Corsair Galleon 100 SD Gaming Keyboard Review
Design and Styling
The first thing you will notice out of the box is that this is a true full-sized keyboard, and it carries the physical footprint to prove it. It will take up a significant amount of desk space, largely due to the fact that the streaming keys have been positioned on the right-hand side of the frame—where a traditional numpad would normally sit. This is a notable design departure from the Vanguard Pro 96, which tucked its dedicated streaming buttons into the left side of the frame. The right-side placement on the Galleon allows the Stream Deck section to take center stage, complete with two tactile dials—one dedicated to volume and the other for navigating various streaming functions—and a vibrant 5" full-color LCD screen.

At first glance, the removal of the numpad in favour of twelve dedicated LCD macro keys felt like a potential dealbreaker. For those of us who use our gaming rigs for productivity or "day job" tasks, the loss of a dedicated number entry area is often a frustrating compromise. However, that skepticism vanished the moment the keyboard was powered on. As the lights began to flash and the LCD screen came to life, it became clear that the Stream Deck buttons can actually be toggled to function as a numpad. This clever software integration makes it a versatile tool for both streaming and working from home, effectively giving you the best of both worlds. It should be noted, however, that it doesn't offer the exact layout of a standard numpad; the decimal point and mathematical keys are tucked away on a secondary set of buttons, which may require a small adjustment period for power users.
Software and Customisation
To customize the keyboard's behaviour and lighting, Corsair has moved away from traditional desktop software in favor of the Corsair Web Hub. This online-only platform is surprisingly polished and proves just as user-friendly as the long-standing iCUE software, allowing for quick adjustments to RGB effects, the integrated RGB mood bar, and key assignments directly through a browser. However, because the Galleon 100 SD is "Stream Deck enabled," you also need to have the Elgato Stream Deck software running to manage the LCD keys and dials. While both applications are intuitive, requiring two separate pieces of software to manage a single device — especially for those who already have other Corsair peripherals tied to iCUE — can be a bit of a pain. It creates a fragmented ecosystem that feels slightly less streamlined than it should be, even if the individual tools work well.
Performance
When it comes to the actual typing experience, the Galleon 100 SD feels every bit as premium as its predecessors. The keyboard features durable PBT keycaps and utilizes Corsair's pre-lubed MLX Pulse mechanical switches. Much like the Vanguard Pro 96, these linear switches are designed for a quieter typing performance, making them ideal for streamers who don't want their microphone picking up the aggressive clatter of keys. The responsiveness is impressive, though almost to a fault; the keys are so sensitive that I occasionally found myself double-pressing buttons — particularly the space bar — during more frantic typing sessions.

Performance-wise, the keyboard is a powerhouse, boasting AXON hyper-polling rates of up to 8,000Hz for near-instantaneous input. New to this model is the inclusion of FlashTap SOCD handling, which allows players to prioritize opposing directional inputs for cleaner movement and more reliable counter-strafing in competitive titles. The build quality is exceptional, featuring a sturdy aluminum frame and a gasket-mounted design with six layers of internal sound dampening to ensure a refined "thocky" sound profile.
Verdict
While the $349.99 price point is certainly a steep investment, the Galleon 100 SD justifies its cost by eliminating the need for a separate Stream Deck unit and providing a cushioned palm rest for long-term comfort. It is a specialized, well-engineered tool that simplifies a complex setup without sacrificing the high-end gaming features Corsair is known for.
