Red Alert 3 starts right near the end of where 2 left off. In that game the Soviets were on the threshold of defeat. Of course Soviet leadership couldn’t accept even the slightest thought of losing what we now know as the Cold War so they devised an evil plan. This plan is to use a secret technology that would enable them to go back in time and change the way things actually turned out. However these seemingly smart leaders got it all wrong. They didn’t actually turn the tide of war in their favor; they merely managed to add to their problems. Changing the timeline they ended up in a world where there are now three world powers instead of two and all of them have access to weapons technologies that can only be described as “out of this world”.
The weapons technology available to the three super powers in this new time truly is wondrous. Can you imagine using a Tesla coil to literally rip your enemy apart limb from limb? Exactly what is a Tesla coil you may be wondering? From the information I garnered, and I’m not completely sure myself, it may have something to do with energy beams or other evilly conceived weapons of mass destruction. There will be teleportation devices, a few armed war blimps, a couple of floating island fortresses along with an intelligent dolphin and armored bear as well.
I like that the Rising Sun Empire is added to the mix here. The fact that this empire is located in the vast expanse of the Pacific Ocean means that sea warfare is going to make its debut for the first time in the Red Alert series. Add some cooperative play and we have a smashingly excited war based real time strategy game.

Well folks, what else can I say except that I can’t wait for this one to come my way? I have been interested in this genre of computer gaming for a long time now and Red Alert 3 is going to be a valued addition to my collection. With world wide sales numbers near 25 million units for the Command & Conquer franchise how this new addition not be able to follow along in the successful foot steps of previous games? I say it can’t fail. With that said, make sure to put your order in early for this one, then gather up a couple of your game loving friends and get ready to battle it out in one of the top futuristic sci-fi RTS adventures of all time!
