'Hitman: Absolution' will not have an online pass
Square Enix have announced that their upcoming stealth title Hitman: Absolution will no longer have need for a online pass.
The game was originally set to have an online pass for online multiplayer access with a code being bundled in the game's case. Apparently the publisher had a change of heart when it comes to charging players for online access. Square Enix made this announcement over on the IO Interactive blog, stating;
“We’d actually planned to have this mode accessible via a code in the game’s box, but we really want to make it available to anybody that plays the game – so we want to take a new approach.”
Square stated that while the game will still come with a code you can ignore them. "If you’re in North America you’ll see the mode automatically appear in the game menu. If you’re elsewhere, you can redeem the code inside the box, or you can simply select the BUY CONTRACTS PASS option. From there, head to the store where CONTRACTS will be free to access.”
Hitman: Absolution is out tomorrow in the US.
