Valve officially reveals Counter-Strike 2

After an incredibly long wait, Counter-Strike fans can finally rejoice, as just half an hour ago, Valve officially dropped three separate new gameplay trailers, showing players what they can soon expect to be coming in this new entry in Valve's longstanding popular multiplayer tactical shooter series, appropriately labeled Counter-Strike 2.

Counter-Strike 2 appears to be something akin to both a remaster and expansion of the existing Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. It is not clear as of now whether Counter-Strike 2 will be made free to all CSGO owners, or whether it will release as a separate paid product, although fans shouldn't have long to wait, as community-gathered information from data mining indicates that Counter-Strike 2 will drop potentially as soon as later today.

Counter-Strike 2 will include new maps, and all-new remakes of older maps, rebuilt from scratch using Valve's new internal Source 2 engine, as well as all-new lighting systems and visual effects. Valve has not confirmed whether other new content, such as new weapons or cosmetics, will likewise debut with Counter-Strike 2, but even in their absence, this sudden outpouring from the normally-comatose Valve is a comforting reassurance that the PC developer and publisher hasn't at least entirely forgotten their roots as game makers, as opposed to merely being game sellers.

Counter-Strike 2 is expected to launch in full this Summer.
