Magic: The Gathering Reality Fracture transforms PAX Australia
Wizards of the Coast has announced its lineup of mind-bending activities set for PAX Australia 2026. From a must-see Commander Showdown taking place in the Main Theatre on Saturday, October 10, to a massive show floor presence across the event, there’s plenty for new fans and veterans alike to enjoy.
Magic: The Gathering's PAX Australia lineup:
• Star-studded Commander Showdown event at 5PM AEST on Sat, Oct 10 in the Main Theatre featuring Good Games Morley, MaldHound, ZMainCharacter, and hosts RubeePlays & Steph Panecasio
• MTG booth in the tabletop area where newcomers can Learn to Play, and experienced players can duke it out in organised play events
• Special event Pauper tournament, held at the booth on the night of Fri, Oct 9
• Guest artist signing sessions & creator meet & greets
• MTG store packed with Reality Fracture and other Magic: The Gathering sets
Magic: The Gathering Reality Fracture will be highlighted over the course of the event, bringing the return of iconic characters and spells, but twisting and turning them in unexpected ways. It’s an excellent opportunity for seasoned fans to experience some of their all-time favourite cards with unique twists, and a perfect entry point for beginners, with staff on-hand at our booth all weekend to help in Learn to Play areas.
The Main Theatre of PAX Australia will be host to a star-studded Commander Showdown, featuring international and local talent. Warp over on Saturday, October 10 at 5PM to watch as Magic creators MaldHound and ZMainCharacter take to the stage alongside local legends from Good Games Morley, hosted by RubeePlays and Stephanie Panecasio. They'll be duking it out on stage with commander decks showcasing the latest legends from Reality Fracture, all while attendees help steer the match and win prizes for participating.
The Magic: The Gathering booth will also have organised play running all event long for players of all experience levels. Check the schedule at the booth each day to see what sets will be available to draft, and when, while spots last.
On Friday night from 6PM, the Magic: The Gathering booth sees the return of Pauper Bash, following last year's successful event hosted by Gavin Verhey. This year, players will bring their favourite Pauper decks to battle it out for bragging rights and booster prizing. Get to work on those decklists and prepare for a fun night with the local community celebrating this unique and accessible format.
The booth will also be host to guest artists Benjamin Ee, Alex Stone, Rovina Cai, and April Prime, with sessions all weekend long to have them sign your favourite cards. Creator sessions, including Maldhound, ZMainCharacter, and Good Games Morley, will be held off-booth in dedicated Meet & Greet rooms; please check PAX AUS schedules for more information.
There's also a Magic: The Gathering store which will be loaded with Reality Fracture and other recent sets, including The Hobbit and Marvel Super Heroes. From Play and Collector Boosters to preconstructed Commander Decks and accessories, the store has you covered, while stock lasts.
