GameFly Subscribers Wanted Batman: Arkham City Most in 2011
GameFly aggregated the GameQ data for their subscribers to create Top 10 of 2011 lists for each platform and, well, the results aren't all that surprising.
Batman: Arkham City placed first on both the cross-platform and Xbox 360 lists, and came in second on the PS3 list. It may not rank number one on a lot of GOTY lists, but it was still one of the year's most popular titles. Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception took first on the PS3 list, Super Mario 3D Land had the top spot on the 3DS list, and Skyward Sword was the most wanted Wii title.
On the DS, however, is the interesting fact that the game at the top of the list came out in 2006. New Super Mario Bros. was the most popular DS game within GameFly's subscriber base in 2011. It beat out Pokemon White, Pokemon Black, and Kirby Mass Attack, all of which actually came out last year.
Skyrim, quite possibly the most critically acclaimed game of 2011, and our GOTY, is curiously low on these lists (7th Overall/360, 8th PS3). Though, considering the kind of game Skyrim is, it's fairly easy for most gamers to tell if it's something they'll enjoy, and the time investment doesn't make it a good candidate for rental.
