Child's Play Raised Over $3.5 Million in 2011
The game-focused charity announced yesterday that they raised just over $3.5 million in 2011, a new record and huge increase over 2010.
With the year over and everything totaled, the charity found it had raised a final amount of $3,512,345 for 2011. This is far and above the $2.2 million they raised in 2010, a goal they only knew had been broken as late as December 21. This past year also marked the charity's crossing of the $10 million mark in total lifetime funds raised.
The charity has once again set this year's total, rounded to the nearest tenth of a million, as the goal to beat for next year. Can the charity raise more than 3.5 million in 2012? I'd say there's a pretty strong chance, given just how much more they were able to raise than in 2010. The community and its support of the charity is bound to grow even larger, and the Second Annual Child's Play Golf Tournament is likely to raise even more than the first one.
