So it Begins…again
Call For Heroes will be a third person action game with some RPG elements coming to the Wii console sometime before the end of 2007. This game is a big step for Quotix Software which is essentially making its main stream gaming debut. Although Quotix is not yet known for its great video games, with some help from overseas they may be able to put something interesting together for the Wii console. Some of you may have already played or seen the game for the PC and noticed its sub par performance but there is still hope for the Wii version.
The game will of course be a port of the original with some design and control refinements. It is not stated exactly what the changes from the original will be. But the UK based Data Design Interactive publishing the game has stated that it will take full advantage of the Wii controller.
Expect the Expected
The story of Call For Heroes: Pompolic Warsis your fairly standard fantasy themed adventure. A dimensional portal to another world has been opened and evil enemies came pouring though into our world. These demonic creatures are led by a nasty fellow – Pompolic – who wields some dirty supernatural powers. These powers allow Pompolic to possess people and turn them into soldiers in his ever growing dark army. We are told however that his power is not limitless and that it is actually controlled by some other nasty dudes called Dark Souls. If these Dark Souls can be defeated then perhaps someone can take down Pompolic himself. Thus, the call goes out for some heroes. To make a long story short; evil has appeared, the world is on the brink of destruction, and unknown people must fight against all odds to save the world.
Who Heeds the Call?
The game will provide fifteen detailed maps, including mysterious environments (which means just about anywhere with fog), grass plains and dark dungeons. Players are given the option to choose between two different heroes; one male, one female with different abilities and skills. For example, players who choose the Warrior will be those that like to get their hands dirty in melee combat. The Warrior lacks stealth but makes up for it in raw power and a higher defence. People who prefer to surprise their enemies will choose the female Amazon as she lurks in the shadows and uses primarily ranged attacks with bows, crossbows and spears. Each player will have a different set of various special abilities that can be used during combat to deliver some deadly attacks that may or may not be magical in nature.
