'Tomb Raider' has biggest week one sales in franchise history

Crystal Dynamics have announced that their reboot title, Tomb Raider, had the biggest first week sales in franchise history.

While sales were so poor that the previous Square Enix president Yoichi Wada resigned over it, Crystal Dynamics boss Darrell Gallagher saved face by announcing that Tomb Raider's sales were the best in the series 17 year history.
“It’s been the biggest week one sales in franchise history, and we’re only a few weeks into that launch right now, and it’s been the biggest opening so far in 2013,” said Gallagher at the Tomb Raider panel. “So, we’re happy with the outcome. It’s certainly in a place where we feel like we’re on the road to achieving everything we wanted to.”
Square Enix did in fact act like the game's poor sales (perspective) were the worst in franchise history, it's clearly a tale of who you ask.
