Capcom returns to head Gamescom Asia lineup

Gamescom Asia returns to mark another year of Asian gaming excellence, announcing its first round of stage guests and booths featuring industry heavyweights serving as testament to the region's growing significance in the global games industry.

gamescom asia is Asia's premier video games business and consumer event, bringing together the breadth of Southeast Asia's games industry and its fans. The event will be hosted in Singapore from 17 - 20 October 2024, with a business and public exhibition, an industry conference, and several programmes for the public.

CAPCOM, a leading global developer and publisher of video games, is the first major publisher confirming their participation, kickstarting the B2C entertainment area. Attendees can look forward to a variety of hands-on demos of upcoming games and the electrifying CAPCOM Pro Tour 2024 SUPER PREMIER SINGAPORE that is an official tournament for Street Fighter 6, promising an unforgettable experience for fans and industry professionals alike. Whilst Capcom is the first of the major publishers to be attending the consumer show, speakers from Larian, CD Projekt RED, Nexon (Dave the Diver), and more will be present. Given the success of last year's inaugural show, this year is shaping up to be even bigger.

The GCL group returns to gamescom asia too, featuring its games publishing unit 4Divinity with its 2024 titles. These include JDM: Japanese Drift Master which lets players explore and drift around Japan's countryside, open-world construction and survival game Terratech Worlds, action RPG with base building
and tower defence mechanics First Dwarf and the immersive sim and horror FPS S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl.

Additional details of globally renowned brands showcasing their games to consumers will be unveiled closer to the show.

Headlining the business conference of gamescom asia is Shawn Layden, who was pivotal in helping shape the iconic PlayStation brand. He will set the tone for the gamescom asia conference with a fireside chat on insights and predictions about the games industry.

Companies from across the globe are joining the exhibition, including from Australia, China, Europe, Hong Kong S.A.R., Indonesia, Japan, the Middle East, Philippines, South Korea, Taiwan, and the USA, as well as country pavilions from Singapore, Thailand, and Spain, solidifying gamescom asia as the premier hub for Asian gaming. This is further reinforced by recent sponsorship deals with long-time event supporters Xsolla and Games from Spain as well as newcomer Mistil Games.

"We are excited to be part of the evolving status of Southeast Asia as a key market in the games industry. The region is really showing its potential for growth, and with the continued support we've had over the years, plus key industry leaders joining us this year, it's clear that gaming in the region is on a promising path. Additionally, gamescom asia is uniquely positioned as a bridge for gamers who seek a direct connection to their favourite games and their creators,” said Daria La Valle, Project Director at Koelnmesse, organiser of gamescom asia.
