Steam potentially set to add a Game Notes feature

From the olden days, when players would rely on a few spare blank pages inside the game booklet, packaged inside the hard case their game came in, the ability to write useful notes to oneself has been a cornerstone of gaming, and it sounds like Steam will soon be resurrecting that tool in digital form in the near future.

The known Steam data miner Pavel Djundik shared, on his Twitter account, excerpts of new programming code from Valve that hint toward the presumptive development of a new social feature referred to as "Game Notes".

While references to this new feature are currently limited, the information suggests that, similar to Steam Workshop items, players will be able to upload and download these Notes. Game Notes will be accessible in some form both using Steam's desktop browser as well as for those viewing Steam from a web browser.

Nothing currently indicates when Valve might finally put this feature into the hands of the Steam userbase, and Valve's history of near-obsessive secretiveness indicates that the first time the company will acknowledge the feature's existence is only in the patch notes when they formally release it as part of some future Steam update.
